Gwen Stefani is not in talks to host her own cooking show on the Food Network, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. A rep for the singer tells us it’s not true.

An article in this week’s Life & Style, which was later posted online by OK!, says Stefani is looking to take her career in a different direction by becoming a full-time TV chef. A so-called “insider” tells the magazine it’s “something she’s dreamed of for a long time,” and now she’s ready to take the leap. “The Food Network is super excited to work with Gwen,” adds the suspicious source.

As the story goes, it was Stefani’s pal and Food Network host Giada de Laurentiis who convinced her to take on the new gig. The singer was supposedly inspired to get her own series after baking pies with the chef during a Facebook Live event last year. The seemingly phony tipster further contends that Stefani plans to invite celebrity guests on her show, including Blake Shelton, and may even write “her own cookbook” as well.

The tabloid’s entire article is based on claims from one single anonymous and untraceable source. Meanwhile, Stefani’s spokesperson tells Gossip Cop on the record it’s simply “untrue.” Also, no one at the Food Network was aware of the singer getting her own project when we checked. Additionally, not only did Stefani’s own rep dismiss the story, but also the assertion that she’s quitting music to become a TV chef is provably false. Last month, Stefani announced she’s launching her own Las Vegas residency this June.

Of course, Life & Style has proven to know very little about the singer’s personal life, so it doesn’t come as a shock that the magazine has no more insight into her career. Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid for publishing a false cover story about Stefani and Shelton planning a “wedding and a baby” for the summer. The inaccurate report came on the heels of a contradictory article about Stefani “calling off” a summer wedding in Oklahoma.

OK!, which published the phony claim online, is no more trustworthy when it comes to accurately reporting about the singer. Gossip Cop busted the publication earlier this year for wrongly maintaining Stefani and Shelton celebrated a honeymoon in Mexico following a secret marriage ceremony. It seems when the tabloids aren’t cooking up falsehoods about the singer’s personal life, they’re busy heating up half-baked lies about her career.
