An often debunked website is once again claiming Blake Shelton may propose to Gwen Stefani on Valentine’s Day. The outlet, however, has no legitimate insight whatsoever, and is simply speculating about whether Shelton will pop the question on the most romantic day of the year. Gossip Cop, however, knows for a fact that no one close to Stefani or Shelton is sharing personal information about the couple with blogs, particularly with one that’s well-known for fabricating articles about them.

Of course, we’re referring to HollywoodLife, a site that fibs so frequently it’s nicknamed HollywoodLies. As it tends to do, the outlet asserts its latest report comes from a “source close to” the No Doubt singer. But if that were truly the case, the online publication wouldn’t post so many articles that are provably false. As opposed to how that blog typically hides behind unnamed and untraceable sources, Stefani’s spokesperson made a point of going on the record to tell Gossip Cop, “I pretend they don’t exist” because of all their phony stories about her.

And while HollywoodLies does exist, much to the dismay of many celebrities and respectable journalists, it’s hard to believe their so-called sources do. In its new story, the website maintains an alleged “source” shared how Stefani wants to marry Shelton, but “it’s not something she spends a lot of time thinking about.” That’s interesting because when the subject came up last April, Stefani herself said on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she thinks of marrying Shelton “all the time.” Gossip Cop will take the word of Stefani over anonymous quotes from the repeatedly discredited blog.

More significant than what’s included in the site’s latest article is what HollywoodLies conspicuously omits. For example, the outlet doesn’t mention how almost a year ago to the day, it made up a story about how Shelton was shopping for a diamond ring so he could propose to Stefani on Valentine’s Day 2018. As Gossip Cop reported back then, not only didn’t Shelton propose to Stefani last Valentine’s Day, but the two weren’t even in the same state that day.

Actually, HollywoodLies has a longstanding habit of contending the singers are getting engaged on a holiday, and then when it doesn’t happen, it makes the same claim the following year, without ever acknowledging how it was wrong in the past. For instance, back in December 2016, the outlet swore up and down Shelton and Stefani were going to get engaged around Christmas. That falsehood didn’t stop the website from asserting the next year that Shelton was going to propose over Christmas 2017.

As the holidays approached in 2018, the blog again alleged how Stefani felt a ring from Shelton would be the “best Christmas present.” In that manufactured story, its purported “source close to” Stefani said she “thinks about getting married all the time.” Wait, didn’t its seemingly made-up “source” say in the new article that getting married is “not something she spends a lot of time thinking about”? Naturally, when they didn’t get engaged this past December, HollywoodLies tried to cover its tracks again with another work of fiction about how Stefani was supposedly “relieved” Shelton didn’t propose on Christmas.

Also not included in its latest piece is how HollywoodLies falsely reported back in October 2017 that Stefani was already engaged and wearing a diamond ring from Shelton. Basically, the website churns out one tale after another about Shelton going to ask Stefani to marry him, and when there’s no engagement, it either comes up with a bogus excuse for why it didn’t happen or just pretends it never got it wrong and floats the same concocted narrative again. Eventually, they will wed, but until then, here’s a real proposal: Maybe HollywoodLife should stop making up fake stories about Stefani and Shelton.
