Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have not split "after constant fighting and two months apart," despite a completely false tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can debunk the breakup rumors. The two are still very much together.
According to the National Enquirer, however, the country star dumped his girlfriend just before their third anniversary together. A so-called "insider" tells the magazine, "Gwen was devastated. They are living apart and barely communicating."
One of the alleged issues was Shelton having a "change of heart" about having a baby together. Another complication is said to be Stefani's ex Gavin Rossdale, who supposedly objects to her boyfriend spending time with their three sons. "Blake freaked out when he found out that Gavin had complained that he had taken the boys on ATV jaunts on his Oklahoma ranch," says the suspicious source. "He was livid when Gwen didn't defend him more strongly with Gavin."
The magazine further contends that Stefani had been describing Shelton as a "rebound romance" to her pals, and word got back to him. "It was the final betrayal for Blake," adds the questionable insider. And yet another deal breaker, according to the outlet, was Stefani's refusal to leave Hollywood and settle down in Oklahoma. "Gwen didn't mind vacationing in Oklahoma, but her whole family and the music industry are in California," adds the supposed tipster. "She thought it was incredibly selfish for Blake to insist they put aside her whole life to make him happy."
However, the couple's social media activity shows a more accurate account of their relationship, which is going strong. Last week, Shelton paid tribute to Stefani on Instagram in honor of her birthday, writing, "Somehow it feels more like MY birthday everyday.. Happy Birthday @gwenstefani!!! I love you!!!" The No Doubt singer wrote back, "I love u Blake can't believe I got u. #thankuGod." Later that day, Stefani shared an Instagram Story from her birthday dinner at a Mexican restaurant. The footage shows the singer giving Shelton a kiss as her sons sing her happy birthday. Not only is it clear the couple is still together, but Stefani had a joint birthday celebration with her boyfriend and her sons. This would disprove the magazine's claim that the singer "didn't defend" Shelton after Rossdale allegedly objected to him spending time with their kids.
For additional proof of the couple's thriving romance, Stefani recently posted an Instagram video of Shelton serenading her on a tour bus, and added the caption, "I'm so grateful." In addition to the couple's social media accounts completely discrediting the Enquirer's cover story, a rep for Stefani also tells Gossip Cop on the record that it's "not true."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
