Gwen Stefani is threatening to leave Blake Shelton if he doesn't propose soon? That's the bogus story in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
"Gwen Threatens To Walk!" reads a headline in the latest issue of In Touch. According to the magazine, Stefani is demanding a ring after years of dating the fellow musician. "She's had enough," a supposed source tells the outlet. "She's patiently waited for Blake to pop the question for years, and he keeps on dragging his cowboy boots."
The alleged insider goes on to say that before The Voice wrapped in mid-December, fellow coaches John Legend and Kelly Clarkson kept asking Shelton "what the heck he's waiting for." This supposedly led Stefani to "lay down the law," says the suspicious tipster. "She needs Blake to step up and just make a decision - or else."
The tabloid is just trying to create imaginary drama. The superstar couple is very happy together and no one's pressuring anyone to propose. Just a few weeks ago, Stefani told Entertainment Tonight, "Blake saved my life, everybody knows that. Like, we're just having the time of our lives, and we never expected that this late in our lives, so we're just trying to savor every moment together." The No Doubt singer is very content in her relationship. She isn't threatening to leave her boyfriend if he doesn't propose soon.
A couple of weeks ago, Shelton and Stefani released a romantic duet together. The single, Nobody But You, will be included on the country star's upcoming album. Both stars have promoted the track on their Instagram pages. Speaking of Instagram, the couple's respective pages are filled with photos and videos proving their relationship is going strong. It's certainly possible the pair will get engaged at some point in the near future, but they don't appear to be in a rush to walk down the aisle. A source close to the couple tells Gossip Cop that the magazine's report is untrue.
Meanwhile, In Touch has already proven to have zero insight into the couple's romance. In July, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for wrongly reporting that Stefani was pregnant with Shelton's baby girl. That clearly wasn't the case. In February, the tabloid made up a similar story to this latest one. The outlet insisted Stefani was giving Shelton an ultimatum to marry her or she'd dump him. The premise wasn't true earlier this year, and it's no more accurate as we approach 2020.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
