Reba McEntire, Rex Linn Getting Married? Celebrities Reba McEntire, Rex Linn Getting Married?

Gwen Stefani is not "afraid" or "hesitant" to marry Blake Shelton, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can bust this made-up story. The fabricated article comes from a site which has wrongly claimed in the past that they're already married.

HollywoodLife is so known for concocting bogus scenarios about stars like Shelton and Stefani that it's often called HollywoodLies. Recently, the blog maintained the No Doubt singer wanted to be engaged by the holidays before publishing a second story afterwards that conversely claimed Stefani was relieved Shelton didn't propose on Christmas. Clearly, the outlet doesn't have reliable sources. And even Stefani's rep has told Gossip Cop of that site, "I just pretend they don't exist."

With that as background, let's examine what HollywoodLies now alleges. According to the repeatedly disproven website, a "source close to Gwen" claims she's "unsure" about getting married to Shelton. Its "source" asserts Stefani is "hesitant" and "afraid to get married" again because of how it all ended with her first husband, Gavin Rossdale.

The blog's anonymous and possible phony "source" reiterates that Stefani is "scared by the entire divorce process to this day," which is why she's reticent about walking down the aisle, even with a good guy like Shelton. Not surprisingly, Celebrity Insider, a site that prefers rewriting over actual reporting, picked up the article and similarly alleges Stefani is "hesitant" about tying the knot with Shelton. But it doesn't matter how many different ways one phrases it, the premise from both outlets is wrong.

As opposed to those sites that predicate their stories on untraceable, unaccountable, and seemingly made-up sources, Gossip Cop will take Stefani's own words instead. Back in April, when she announced her residency in Las Vegas, Stefani told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show that she thinks about marrying Shelton "all the time." And just last month, after noting how she and the country singer have successfully overcome their respective divorces, Stefani said on the "Today" that with Shelton she's found a man whom she can "depend on and trust and go through life." Those are hardly the words of someone who's "afraid" or "hesitant" to wed Shelton.

And while Stefani trusts her boyfriend of three years, there's good reason not to trust HollywoodLies. As mentioned above, the blog has published an outrageous number of articles that are unquestionably untrue. In August 2018, for example, the site reported Stefani and Shelton had been "secretly married" for six months. It also posted a story claiming Stefani was pregnant with Shelton's baby. And it's the same blog that incorrectly asserted in 2017 that Shelton and Stefani had split up. How "close to Gwen" can the outlet's supposed Stefani "source" be if they've published all those lies?

Lastly, two months ago the site alleged Stefani wanted an engagement ring from Shelton on their third anniversary. In that article, the habitually discredited outlet quoted its "source close to Gwen" as saying, "A ring would truly be the best Christmas present for Gwen." And now she's suddenly "afraid" and "hesitant" to marry him? Basically, HollywoodLies has earned its nickname for churning out one work of fiction after another, which either contradict themselves or are simply proven false over time.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
