Gwen Stefani Blake Shelton Married Oklahoma

(Star)

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton did not get married at his Oklahoma ranch, despite a new cover story. The untrue report comes from the same tabloid that falsely claimed the couple was getting married almost exactly two years ago. Just as Gossip Cop busted that bogus report, we can now debunk this one, too.

In August 2016, Star baited readers with a cover that announced, “Gwen & Blake: Secrets Of The Ceremony!” The front of the issue further touted, “The Vows, The Gown, The Guests.” (See below.) But in the article, the magazine switched from making fans think the couple had tied the knot to claiming they would be marrying that October. Of course, the fall came and went without a wedding.

Now two years later, the outlet has a new cover declaring, “Gwen & Blake: Married On The Oklahoma Ranch!” And similar to the aforementioned issue, it’s teased, “The Dress! The Guests! The Rings!” The story contends Stefani and Shelton are “secretly married” after they “made it official with a hush-hush down-home ceremony.” It’s specifically alleged they wed “six months ago” when Stefani’s family “all flew into Southern Durant airport in March, before being ferried by helicopter to Blake’s 2,000-acre hunting ranch, and witnessing Blake and Gwen exchange rings.”

The purported “secret ceremony” supposedly took place outdoors, “where 45 friends and family members gathered to watch the starry-eyed couple get hitched.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “It was so intimate… It was the perfect day.” Curiously, no specific date is given for the nuptials, aside from the publication referring to “six months ago” and “March,” which don’t exactly line up with each other.

An untraceable “source” goes on to speculate that the alleged wedding “wouldn’t have cost them much more than $20,000,” and an unidentifiable “friend” claims Miranda Lambert “even sent a congratulatory text to Blake when she heard the rumors.” The anonymous “source” also marvels that Shelton and Stefani supposedly “managed to keep it a secret all this time.” It’s further asserted the couple is trying to have a baby together, though the tabloid makes no mention of Stefani supposedly suffering two miscarriages this year, which is what it shamefully and wrongly claimed in June.

As for the pair tying the knot, in March, when this alleged wedding is said to have taken place, “Entertainment Tonight” reported that Stefani and Shelton were “not ready to get married.” And in April, Shelton admitted that although he thinks about marrying Stefani, “I don’t think it’s any time soon or anything.”

The only remotely true aspect to this cover story is that Stefani and her family did spend spring break at Shelton’s ranch in March. But there is no evidence they married during that time. In fact, an online search of marriage records in the state of Oklahoma turns up no results for Stefani. Furthermore, a staffer at the County Clerk’s office confirms to Gossip Cop that there is no record of a marriage there between Shelton and Stefani.

That makes it even clearer that Star simply decided to manufacture a phony wedding narrative tied to the couple’s trip from months ago. Gossip Cop has also reached out to Stefani and Shelton’s respective representatives for comment, and we’ll update if we hear back. But based on everything explained here, including Shelton’s own comment about not getting married and the lack of legal documentation, we’re rating this story a zero on our fact-or-fiction meter.
