A story that claims it has the scoop about how Gwen Stefani “secretly wants to get married” to Blake Shelton is completely made-up. Not only is it no “secret” at all, but the website that published the article later contradicts in a number of ways, including being under the impression the two singers may are already be wed. Regardless, Gossip Cop can bust the absurd report.

This latest nonsense comes courtesy of the ironically titled site, Celebrity Insider, which has posted so many falsehoods about Shelton and Stefani that it’s practically laughable. According to the repeatedly disproven blog, as the couple approaches its third anniversary together, they’re “miles away” from getting married. The outlet then quotes the equally unreliable HollywoodLife, which contends Shelton and Stefani are “delighted with where things stand now.” Wait, Stefani “wants to get married,” but is “delighted” not being married to Shelton?

It actually gets worse from there. The website alleges an unnamed and untraceable “source” claims Stefani and Shelton might already be secretly married and “going way out of their way to hide it.” Showing it literally knows nothing about them, the same supposed “source” adds, “If it hasn’t happened yet, it’s only a matter of time because Gwen… does believe in marriage.” Basically, the entire article is one giant mess.

Contrary to the claim that the No Doubt singer only “secretly” wants to wed Shelton, Stefani openly told millions of people on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she thinks about marrying her boyfriend “all the time.” And if the outlet truly had legitimate sources, it would have known one way or another whether the two are married. On the other side of the reporting spectrum, Stefani’s rep told Gossip Cop on the record they have not exchanged vows.

The truth is Celebrity Insider doesn’t have any insider information at all. It simply cuts-and-paste different narratives from a variety of websites without fact-checking. Often, the end result are a series of disjunctive and contradictory claims.

Sadly, this form of sloppy and untrustworthy journalism doesn’t surprise Gossip Cop, which has been busted that blog on numerous occasions. In February, for instance, we debunked its fake news about how Stefani and Shelton were about to split. The very next month we corrected the outlet when it falsely maintained Stefani was pregnant with Shelton’s “miracle baby.” And not long after that fabrication, Gossip Cop shot down its claim that Shelton and Stefani were “ready to wed.” Not one of those articles (or many others) were true and neither is that site’s current one.
