Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton did not get married in a “backyard wedding,” despite a new tabloid cover story. The same gossip magazine that falsely claimed the couple wed in 2016 is now at it again. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this latest report. A rep for Stefani confirms to us it’s completely “untrue.”

The headline inside the new issue of OK! is “Just Married,” which is an ironic choice since the outlet previously alleged Stefani and Shelton were “just married” a year and a half ago. Of course, that wedding tale was made-up, and so is this new one, despite the publication again claiming the Stefani and Shelton “made it official.” This time around, it’s specifically alleged there was an “intimate backyard ceremony just days before Christmas.”

“Word is it was just family and a few close friends,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying. The tabloid goes on to assert that there was “no time to send out save-the-dates,” so “invites for the hasty nuptials came through a flurry of phone calls, allowing Blake and Gwen to keep the whole affair ‘hush hush.'” The outlet contends “just 27 of the couple’s nearest and dearest gathered in Gwen’s back garden” for a “shindig” that “only set them back $23,000.”

Though the front of the issue depicts the couple in wedding-like attire, that imagery was chosen just to attract consumers. In the actual article, it’s alleged Stefani donned a “light-colored dress” while Shelton wore jeans and a button-down shirt. But it’s quite clear the publication really has no first-hand knowledge, which it why it has its fabricated snitch using tell-tale phrasing like, “Word is it was just family and a few close friends,” and “I heard they had a country band playing.” If the outlet truly had an actual “source,” it would know facts, have details, and not have to couch everything with wishy-washy sentences.

There’s also a substantial deception right on the cover, which teases, “His Mom Tells All.” Readers are being duped into thinking Shelton’s mom “told all” about their “backyard wedding.” That is 100 percent not the case. The country superstar’s mom didn’t speak to OK! at all. Rather, the tabloid’s story features an alleged quote from last July from a woman said to be a “surrogate mom who helped raise” him. That, of course, is far different than what fans are led to believe through the cover line. And even that woman’s remarks don’t confirm a “wedding” took place.

But if the magazine had real “sources” legitimately connected to the couple, it wouldn’t have to rely on such trickery. Yet the outlet is repeatedly caught fabricating, like when it claimed last year Stefani and Shelton were expecting twins. Notably, that’s not mentioned in this new cover story about tying the knot. And while Stefani and Shelton were indeed together in the days leading up to Christmas, no wedding actually took place. Gossip Cop is told the whole cover story is made-up, with a rep exclusively confirming to us the marriage and wedding claims are “untrue.”
