Throughout their nearly four-year romance, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, who met as coaches on “The Voice” in 2014 and began dating the following year, have been the subject of numerous untrue magazine cover stories. These tabloid reports, which range from inaccurate pregnancy tales to bogus splits and marriage claims, have often been 100 percent false. Below, Gossip Cop separates the fact from fiction.

FICTION: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were having a baby girl, according to OK!.
FACT: In January 2018, the tabloid published a cover story claiming “The Voice” coach and No Doubt singer hosted a gender-reveal party at Stefani’s L.A. home, where they invited 60 friends to celebrate their exciting news. At the time, Stefani’s rep told Gossip Cop on the record the article was “made-up.” And now, a good 14 months later, obviously Shelton and Stefani did not have a baby. Ever since they became a couple that magazine has been consistently making up false reports about Stefani being pregnant with Shelton’s baby and sometimes even alleging she’s carrying twins.

FICTION: Gwen Stefani dumped Blake Shelton, according to Life & Style.
FACT: In April 2017, Gossip Cop exclusively busted the outlet when it inaccurately maintained Stefani “decided to pull the plug on her relationship with Blake” because they have “two completely different lifestyles.” The magazine alleged they couldn’t get over “big issues like kids and where to live.” Once again, Stefani’s spokesperson confirmed to Gossip Cop the tale was fabricated. And, of course, two years later it’s clear Stefani didn’t dump Shelton, and they’ve completely melded their lifestyles.

FICTION: Blake Shelton dumped Gwen Stefani, according to In Touch.
FACT: A year after it was wrongly reported that Stefani “dumped” Shelton, the tabloid switched up the premise and alleged the country singer broke up with her after growing “tired of dealing with her many problems,” including her supposed “jealousy over other women” and her “tumultuous relationship” with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. Neither of those were actual issues, and the couple never split up, her rep assured Gossip Cop. More significantly (and almost comically), at the time the publication contended Shelton “dumped” Stefani, she was actually on the road with him. Of course, to this day, they remain happily committed to one another.

FICTION: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton secretly got married at his Oklahoma ranch, according to Star.
FACT: Despite having made this same false claim two years earlier, the tabloid again asserted in August 2018 that Stefani and Shelton secretly got married at his Oklahoma ranch five months earlier. While Stefani and her family spent spring break at the “Voice” coach’s 2,000-acre ranch in March, there is no evidence they tied the knot before 45 friends and family members, as alleged. In fact, a staffer at the County Clerk’s office confirmed to Gossip Cop there was no record of a marriage between Stefani and Shelton. Since then, the two have openly discussed how in love they are, but are in no rush to get married.

FICTION: Gwen Stefani gave Blake Shelton a marriage ultimatum or she’ll dump him, according to In Touch.
FACT: Just a couple of weeks ago, Gossip Cop exclusively shot down the tabloid’s cover story that insisted Stefani refused to wait any longer for Shelton to propose. An anonymous source told the outlet, “Gwen’s tried to be patient, but she can’t take it anymore. That’s why she issued an ultimatum: marry me or it’s over!” The magazine further claimed that led to a “huge ugly fight.” But the No Doubt singer herself recently said she feels “zero pressure” to marry Shelton. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with her rep, who reiterated the article was untrue and that Stefani never gave Shelton a marriage ultimatum.

It should be noted none of the above cover stories were ever true. Still, it appears these magazines will continue to publish made-up articles about Stefani and Shelton. But as long as these outlets try to sell their fiction, Gossip Cop will be here to reveal the facts.
