Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are feuding over their choices for their holiday feasts? That’s the silly rumor from one tabloid. Gossip Cop found it ridiculous.
The National Enquirer claims the two are “locked in a vicious food fight,” according to anonymous sources. Shelton, the tabloid says, is a “committed carnivore” who “loves high-carb, caloric foods that bulk up his 250-pound frame.” But “skinny songbird” Stefani refuses to give up her near-vegan diet and “avoids her guy’s fatty fare like the plague.”
“This becomes a problem during the holidays because Blake stuffs his face like a pig and Gwen’s grossed out by it,” an unidentified tipster says. “He makes fun of her diet of lettuce, tofu and veggies, and it turns into this quarrel every meal!” Additional “sources” tell the outlet that Shelton reduced his drinking for Stefani but is refusing to change the rest of his consumption. The tabloid even claims the No Doubt singer wants her boyfriend to give up meat to “boost his fertility” since “they’ve been trying to get pregnant for years.”
In reality, the couple is happily working together on their plans for Christmas dinner. The two also opened up about their Thanksgiving plans to Entertainment Tonight a few weeks ago. “We all fly out to Oklahoma, like 30 of us,” Stefani said. “Blake has this bed and breakfast hotel that we all stay at and it’s just pretty incredible. We have fun, we all cook together, it’s fun.”
There wasn’t any fighting over the recipes or massive blowouts. Shelton even collaborated with Stefani’s son Apollo to create a Funyun-coated turkey this year. Last Thanksgiving, Shelton and Stefani’s kids created a Hot Cheetos turkey that earned Stefani’s approval. She obviously doesn’t have any problems with her boyfriend’s diet or choice of food for the holidays.
This is a familiar narrative for the Enquirer. It pushed the same story about Stefani fighting with Shelton over his weight after this past New Year’s, when it claimed she wanted him to clean up his diet for the sake of their “future children.” The tabloid did it again for Christmas 2017 when it published a story about Stefani threatening to dump Shelton over his weight and diet.
Gossip Cop has also debunked the tabloid’s repeated claims about Stefani and Shelton trying for a child. The outlet has tried every angle it can to try and trick fans of the couple into buying their magazines. It obviously has no true insight into their personal lives.
Our Verdict
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
