Gwen Stefani has dumped Blake Shelton many times in the fantasy world created by the tabloids. In reality, the happy couple is still together. Here are a few wrong rumors claiming otherwise.
In February, Gossip Cop busted In Touch for wrongly reporting that Stefani had given Shelton an ultimatum to either marry her or she’d dump him. The magazine contended that the No Doubt singer refused to wait any longer for a proposal, but when she issued an ultimatum, it resulted in a “huge ugly fight.”
Not only did Stefani’s spokesperson tell us the story was nonsense, but shortly before it was published, the singer said on the “Today” show that she feels “no pressure” to marry her boyfriend and is “trying to be in the moment as much as we can.” Nearly six months later, Shelton hasn’t popped the question and the couple still remain happily together.
Gossip Cop called out the National Enquirer in January for making up a ridiculous story about Stefani telling Shelton to get fit or she’d dump him. According to the outlet, the singer was tired of her boyfriend packing on the pounds and was threatening to end their relationship if he didn’t get in shape. The story didn’t make much sense, considering that Stefani previously told “Entertainment Tonight” that Shelton is the one who encourages her to go to the gym. Additionally, the singer’s rep assured us the premise was fabricated.
Also in January, Gossip Cop debunked an OK! story about Stefani calling off her wedding to Shelton despite being pregnant with his baby. The outlet maintained that the singer had gotten pregnant following a round of IVF treatments, but her boyfriend “started acting distant and noncommittal,” prompting her to cancel their plans to get married. Nothing about the article was remotely true. Stefani didn’t call off an unplanned wedding amid a nonexistent pregnancy. As we noted at the time, the singer is currently performing a Las Vegas residency.
And way back in April 2017, Life & Style wrongly reported that Stefani had dumped Shelton because she was “unsure they can ever come to an agreement over big issues like kids and where to live.” The tabloid contended that the No Doubt singer had reached her “breaking point” in the relationship when her boyfriend supposedly started ignoring her. Stefani’s own rep told Gossip Cop more than two years ago that the story was nonsense, and the happy couple is still together.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
