One of this week’s tabloids claims Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are getting married in a backyard wedding at her home in Los Angeles, and will have a second celebration at his Oklahoma ranch. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

According to the National Enquirer, the couple of three years recently met with Stefani’s priest for “pre-marriage counseling” in advance of a private wedding ceremony to be held at her home. “Gwen and Blake are excitable and impulsive and ready to pull the trigger,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “They have already pulled all the paperwork to make it official.”

The alleged insider further insists the L.A. ceremony will be small and intimate, but Stefani and Shelton plan to invite all of their famous friends to a “massive celebration” at the country star’s Oklahoma property. “There will be a five-day reception at Blake’s hunting lodge,” adds the seemingly phony tipster. “They’re also planning another ceremony.”

Naturally, the unreliable tabloid doesn’t bother to mention exactly when the couple’s supposed nuptials are going to take place. That’s because there’s no ceremony currently in the works. The publication’s story is coming from an unidentified tipster, but Gossip Cop checked in with Stefani’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record it’s fabricated. Despite what the outlet’s anonymous “source” claims, a rep qualified to speak on the No Doubt singer’s behalf confirms that she and Shelton aren’t planning wedding celebrations in L.A. and Oklahoma.

As recently as December, Stefani said she’s not yet engaged to Shelton and feels “zero pressure” to make it happen. It’s certainly possible the couple will get engaged and married at some point in the not-too-distant future, but the tabloid’s take on the subject is fictional.

The publication has a poor track record when it comes to the couple. Just last month, the magazine maintained Stefani gave Shelton the ultimatum of getting fit or getting dumped. As Gossip Cop noted as the time, not only has Stefani said in interviews that it’s actually Shelton who pushes them to exercise, but also her rep assured us the article was “untrue.”

It also bears mentioning that Gossip Cop recently busted the outlet for falsely contending on its cover that Stefani and Shelton had split up. Following that bogus report, the same magazine switch courses and alleged the couple had a secret wedding in Nevada. Lastly, this is all coming from a publication that untruthfully and disgustingly once asserted Stefani had a miscarriage with Shelton’s baby.

All of the outlet’s off-base stories were based on anonymous sources. Conversely, a rep for Stefani told Gossip Cop on the record those reports were wrong, and time has proven that to be the case. Much like the aforementioned articles, the latest claim about them having a wedding in L.A. and a reception in Oklahoma is similarly inaccurate.
