Gospel Works, an incredible choir, received a standing ovation to kick off “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday. Watch the video below!

With 44 members from “various parts of the country,” the singers typically rehearse online. “Do you believe you can win?” Simon Cowell asked. The act’s leader confidently responded, “I believe we will.” The mogul then said, “And I love choirs, so I really hope you do well.” But “well” ended up being an understatement.

The group knocked it out of the park with a passionate version of “This Little Light Of Mine” that began with a powerful soloist. The rest of the singers then joined in with equal enthusiasm. The judges seemed awestruck by the jubilant performance, and rose to their feet for a standing ovation.

“That was pretty amazing,” Simon Cowell could be heard saying afterward as Mel B exclaimed, “Wow, oh my gosh!” She went on, “That just hit me in every single way… You gave me more purpose, you know what I mean? It was everything, everything and more.”

Howie Mandel told the soloist, “You are a star on your own.” He then admitted, “I generally do not like choir, but I’ve gotta be honest. You took this Jew to church.” The comedian amusingly added later, “This little yes of mine, I’m going to let it shine.”

Heidi Klum confessed, “In the five years that I’ve been sitting in this chair, this has been in my eyes, in my ears, the best choir we have had.” Cowell called the performance “fantastic,” and deemed the soloist a “little Aretha” and the group’s “secret weapon.”

“If you ever give up deciding to be in a choir, you know how to get a hold of me. But they’re not going to let you,” the mogul said. Check out the video below!
