Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell haven’t “split,” despite a new tabloid cover story alleging the couple of 34 years has divided their home into separate living quarters. Gossip Cop looked into the breakup claim, and we’ve exclusively learned the truth.
According to the cover of the National Enquirer, the longtime couple “split,” their $130 million fortune is “at stake,” and Russell walked out on Hawn, who’s had a “secret lover.” Inside the magazine, however, is a different story. A “source” tells the publication, “They love each other, but they’ve just accepted they can’t be together 24/7. Their relationship has been volatile at times, and they’ve considered calling it quits. But at their age they decided that it makes sense to stick together as long as they have their own space.”
The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to contend that the couple, who met in 1983 on the set of Swing Shift, recently renovated their home to have “separate bedrooms, separate bathrooms and even a cozy living area for both of them.” The highly suspect “source” further asserts that there’s been an ongoing tension in their relationship because Hawn has never gotten over her romance with Swedish opera singer Bruno Wintzell, who died of cancer in 2002. The actress only dated Wintzell from 1973 to 1975, but the magazine’s “source” insists that even though Hawn fell in love with Russell, she never moved on and it’s caused problems between them.
The seemingly phony insider also alleges the actor has cheated on Hawn several times, but whenever she confronted him about the supposed affairs, “Kurt would always hit back by bringing up Bruno.” The “source” continues, “It all boiled over in 2015 when Kurt lost his temper, and they secretly split for a while.” The questionable tipster goes on to maintain the couple got back together after coming up with the idea to divide their house, but “they’re still struggling.” “Friends are worried Kurt and Goldie will soon decide that the only way to go forward is to end things, even after all these years together,” adds the so-called “source.”
There are a whole lot of accusations thrown around in the Enquirer‘s article, but none of them are remotely true. Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Hawn to get to the bottom of these allegations, and we’re exclusive assured they’re “all wrong.” The tabloid’s sordid tale of past lovers, secret affairs and separate lives is entirely made-up. After 34 years together, Hawn and Russell have not “split” and their relationship remains strong.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has had to debunk false rumors about the couple having problems. We previously busted the Enquirer‘s sister outlet, RadarOnline, for wrongly reporting Hawn and Russell were caught having a “screaming match” in public. No such incident occurred, and this latest story about the happy pair is equally untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
