Glenn Close is not playing Hillary Clinton in a movie, despite a late and wrong report. Yet again, Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this. We’re told the repeated claim is still 100 percent wrong.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, the National Enquirer wrongly alleged several days ago that Close is set to star as Clinton in a biopic film. At the time, we suspected the actress was possibly linked to this non-existent movie because Close did an impression of Clinton last year at the Tony Awards (right). Regardless, a rep for Close exclusively assured us the story was entirely untrue.

Now, the tabloid’s sister site, RadarOnline, seemingly thinks that if one tells a lie enough, it might be believed. According to the repeatedly disproven webloid, “A movie is in the works about Hillary Clinton and her amazing life,” and the unnamed filmmakers have tapped Close to portray the former First Lady, turned Senator, Secretary of State, and eventually presidential candidate. A so-called “source” tells the outlet, “Glenn and Meryl [Streep]’s names were both mentioned a lot, but after Meryl got so political at the Golden Globes, producers thought it might be better to go with Close.” The site further fancily alleges the film will focus on “Clinton’s career” and “marriage to Bill.”

Suffice to say, there is no script, no movie, and no casting of Close as Clinton. Basically, there’s absolutely no truth to the RadarOnline claim. It’s simply a late and wrong regurgitation of an already discredited story.
