Is Gigi Hadid "fed up" with Zayn Malik's anxiety? A new, insensitive report claims the couple is being torn apart by his mental health issues. But Gossip Cop can debunk the story.

According to Life & Style, Malik's "mind" is "causing problems in his relationship" with Hadid. A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "She would like to go out with him publicly much more, but Zayn is riddled with anxiety and terrified of public situations. It's getting tougher for Gigi. Her friends see cracks forming."

The tabloid, however, offers no specifics. Rather, it just generally talks about a dispute. The supposed snitch maintains, "Gigi wants him to do what it takes to beat his demons, but she has to tiptoe around his needs. The pressure is getting to her." But what, exactly, are Malik's "demons" and "needs"? How does Hadid "tiptoe" around them? How and when have "friends" seen "cracks forming"? And what kind of "source" would really leak something so private to a gossip magazine?

None of this is explained, even as the outlet insists it's "getting harder" for Hadid to continue "supporting" her boyfriend. As evidence of Malik's problems, the publication asserts he's "spoken openly about his battle with anxiety," "hasn't played a major concert since leaving One Direction," "rarely ventured out" while working on his second album and "even lived for a time on a farm." But again, consider what the tabloid doesn't mention.

Malik told the Sunday Times last year, "I now have no problem with anxiety." And after he canceled a performance in 2016, Hadid posted a message of support on Twitter. Her commitment to him, through highs and lows, good and bad, hasn't wavered. What's more is that while the magazine's story is about anxiety preventing the singer from going out in public, Malik and Hadid just stepped out for his birthday less than a week ago.

Also important to mention is the outlet's horrible track record when it comes to reporting on the couple. Nearly two years ago, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style multiple times for falsely claiming Hadid and Malik were "on the rocks" and breaking up. It wasn't true they were splitting up, as we correctly said, and time has proven our reporting was right. In fact, the couple just marked their second anniversary two months ago. And while it's impossible to predict whether they'll continue to go the distance, this narrative about Hadid being "fed up" over Malik's anxiety just isn't accurate.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
