A new tabloid report dramatically asserting that fatherhood is “killing” George Clooney is completely exaggerated. The article claims the actor is suffering a major health crisis as a result of becoming a first-time dad to twins at the age of 56, but it’s all sensationalized. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.
A new report posted on the National Enquirer‘s website alleges Clooney has become “a withered husk of his former self” in the months since wife Amal gave birth to their twin babies. The unreliable magazine says the actor is unable to cope with the stress of being a parent and has “grown sickly” during the process. A so-called “source” tells the outlet, “Fatherhood is sucking the life out of George! He looks decades older! He’s feeling every bit of his 56 years!”
The publication’s questionable source goes on to say Clooney got “more than he bargained for” with the arrival of twins, who are supposedly destroying his physical well-being. Of course, looking after two newborn babies would be stressful for any new parent, let alone one in their 50’s, but the tabloid’s extreme assertion that Clooney is deteriorating over the situation is completely bogus.
The actor himself has admitted in recent interviews that fatherhood is both difficult and tiring, but he also said during a press conference last week at the Toronto International Film Festival, “I couldn’t be more in love and more happy with my family. I’m 56, which is old to be doing this and I didn’t really think it was going to happen in my life. So it’s all icing on the cake.” Simply put, the Enquirer‘s suggestion that the actor is becoming seriously ill is very melodramatic.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the tabloid has published a bogus report surrounding the actor and his twins. Gossip Cop recently busted the magazine for concocting a tall tale about Clooney’s baby boy peeing in his face during a diaper change. That supposed incident never occurred, and this latest claim about the actor’s alleged health woes is equally phony.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
