George Clooney and Amal Clooney are not having twins again, nor is their marriage in need of saving, despite a new report. Unfortunately, that's the bogus premise being sold on the cover of one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to Star, the Clooneys are expecting another baby boy and girl two years after welcoming twins Ella and Alexander. "It's a miracle they didn't see coming," a supposed source tells the magazine, adding that the human rights lawyer is around three months pregnant but won't make an official announcement until she's "five or six months" along.
The so-called "insider" goes on to say that the actor will be taking a two-year break from Hollywood to spend quality time with the new babies, adding, "George has cleared his work schedule so he can be a full-time dad." Just last week, however, it was announced that Clooney will be directing and starring in the Netflix movie Good Morning, Midnight. The tabloid's inaccuracies don't end there.
The suspicious tipster further contends that George and Amal were on the brink of a divorce before the "pregnancy news," mostly because the actor had a penchant for partying with his pals, but they've since found their way back to each other. "This pregnancy saved their marriage," says the seemingly phony source. The "insider" also maintains that George asked Barack Obama to be the godparent of his "new twins" when the former president visited the actor's Lake Como home last month.
There's not a single aspect of this story that's remotely true. In April, Gossip Cop busted Star for falsely claiming George and Amal were getting a divorce amid her being pregnant and him planning to run for president. This latest article makes no mention of the actor making a bid for the White House, which isn't happening. As for Amal, the actress wasn't expecting in April and she's not pregnant now.
As Gossip Cop has noted in the past, both the movie star and the human rights lawyer have stated in separate interviews that they're done having kids. Amal told the Hollywood Reporter in September 2017 she's not having more children, adding, "I'm 39. I already had them quite late." Not long after that, George told "Extra" in no uncertain terms how he's "done at two."
Additionally, the couple's marriage has always been strong, despite the outlet alleging otherwise. Last year, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for wrongly reporting George and Amal were getting a "$1 billion divorce." That never happened, so now the publication is backpedaling with this bogus narrative about them "saving their marriage" with more twins.
It will be interesting to see how Star attempts to weasel its way out of this latest storyline when it becomes evident that Amal isn't pregnant. A source close to the situation assures Gossip Cop the human rights lawyer isn't expecting, and her marriage to George has never been in trouble.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
