George Clooney is not divorcing wife Amal Clooney, nor is she pregnant with their third baby, despite a completely false tabloid story. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus report. The couple's marriage is going strong and they're not expecting another child.
According to the Globe, the actor is miserable over his wife's "demanding behavior" and pals believe he's preparing to file for a "billion-dollar divorce." An alleged insider tells the magazine, "They fight over everything, large and small, and he's getting so tired of getting beaten down by her intellect and superior way of speaking that he's willing to walk." The supposed source adds, "They fight over his booze business, their money and his showbiz friends that Amal can't - or won't - relate to." The questionable tipster also maintains that the attorney "hates Hollywood" and is "rude to George's friends."
The story is flawed from the very start. Amal is close with her husband's friend and Casamigos business partner Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford. In fact, a photo from George's AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony in July shows the human rights lawyer mingling with the couple without her husband. Additional photos from George's AFI tribute show Amal laughing and chatting with Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, just to name a few of her husband's Hollywood friends.
Still, the magazine's alleged tipster says George, who shares one-year-old twins with his wife, "complains he's nagged all the time over whether it's his turn to change the diapers or put the kids to bed with a story." The "source" further contends that Amal "has been on his back over his reckless behavior" ever since his scooter accident in July, "and how he needs to be more responsible now that he's a husband and father."
Without any evidence, the outlet goes on to say "rumors are flying that Amal may be preggers with what was supposed to be a marriage-saving third baby." The "source" adds, "That would be unfortunate timing. George would have to rethink his exit strategy if that turns out to be true." The seemingly nonexistent insider further alleges that the movie star has "secretly consulted his lawyers" to prevent his wife from walking away with his fortune and trying to get primary custody of their kids. "The bickering has George miserable. He's ready to walk," concludes the suspicious source.
None of this is remotely accurate. Far from feeling belittled by his wife, George introduced himself as "Mr. Amal Clooney" at Variety's annual Power of Women luncheon last month. It's clear the actor has a lot of respect for the human rights attorney. Meanwhile, George teared up during Amal's touching speech at his AFI ceremony, during which she called him an "amazing husband and father" and "the great love that I always hoped existed."
As for the additional claim about the lawyer expecting a child, Amal told the Hollywood Reporter last September that she's not planning to have another baby. And George told "Extra" last October that he's "done" having kids. Every aspect of the tabloid's story is unequivocally false.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
