George Amal Clooney Divorce May 2015

(Life & Style)

George and Amal Clooney are NOT on the brink of a “nasty $200 million divorce,” despite a completely wrong Life & Style cover story. A rep for the Clooney exclusively tells Gossip Cop the claims are “made up.”

According to the tabloid, the Clooneys recently had a “terrible fight” that “destroyed” their marriage, a culmination of “squabbles” about everything “from her wild spending sprees and mean-girl attitude, to his other women (friends only) and need for space.” Now, says the magazine, “a divorce is happening,” since George has “no desire to stay in a marriage that simply isn’t working.”

The tabloid goes on to allege there’s going to be “ugly court battle over his $200 million fortune,” and the actor is “scared their divorce will turn nasty, because Amal thrives in the courtroom and has great legal connections.” A so-called “source” further claims Amal is “not ready to let go of the marriage, so she’ll be vindictive when she drags him into court to divide their assets.” And in completely unnatural language, the supposed “source” concludes, “They had a storybook beginning, but the ending will be far from pretty.”

Of course, Life & Style has zero credibility, having previously ran a divorce cover story in December, claiming George and Amal’s marriage was “over after 87 days.” Gossip Cop said they were wrong then, and they are equally off-base now. In fact, far from living a “nightmare,” as the tabloid now claims, George and Amal happily attended the Met Gala together earlier this week. Regardless, a rep for Clooney tells Gossip Cop exclusively that the Life & Style cover story is “all made up.”
