Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson impressed again on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars” with a “psychedelic” jazz routine to Sheila E’s “Holly Rock.” See their dance on the movie-theme night in video below.

Last week, Muniz came very close to receiving a perfect score. Instead he had to settle for 29 out of 30 points for his Argentine tango to the song “Angelica” from the Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. For Muniz, it was a redemption dance after having nabbed a 9 three weeks ago and then faltered in the intervening weeks.

About his almost flawless performance, Len Goodman exclaimed, “That was a proper swashbuckling routine.” He also noted how the “Malcolm In The Middle” star was “magnificent.” Carrie Ann Inaba similarly felt Muniz “nailed it.” And Bruno Tonioli said he loved “the smoldering intensity” before praising the actor for a “great job.” For his and Carson’s effort, the pair scored 29 out of 30 points.

Earlier in the season, Muniz revealed that he suffers from memory loss from having received a number of concussions from race car driving, as well as from having had several mini-strokes. He’s also been vocal about his constant back pain. And yet, the actor has been competing like a champ. And this Monday was no different.

Following his jazz dance to Sheila E’s “Holly Rock,” Goodman told Muniz it was fun and “well done.” Tonioli offered, “It was a psychedelic treat.” Inaba said, “It was entertaining but there were mishaps.” “I loved it,” added guest judge Shania Twain. As a result, Muniz got 31 out of 40 points. Check out the video below of his and Carson’s performance.
