Fergie did not release her new album “Double Dutchess” to profit off her recent split from Josh Duhamel, despite a manufactured report. Gossip Cop can correct this bogus claim. We’re told it’s “false.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Fergie and Duhamel recently split after eight years of marriage. The newly-estranged spouses released a joint statement earlier this week, revealing they broke up a few months ago but wanted to keep the news private for as long as possible. Shortly after their split was announced, Fergie went on to release her long-awaited second album, “Double Dutchess,” which features a number of collaborations with the likes of Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross. But according to the often disproven Celeb Dirty Laundry, the singer is “trying to profit off her split” by unveiling her visual record just days after announcing her breakup, and the “public isn’t buying it.”

Without a single source to back up its premise, the website goes on to claim that Fergie, who has allegedly “copied from other artists” by releasing a visual record, hopes her star-studded album will “help her top the charts.” Gossip Cop, however, can set the record straight on this baseless story, which wrongly insinuates that the Black Eyed Peas alum purposely orchestrated “Double Dutchess” to be released in the wake of her split for heightened publicity.

An impeccable source close to the star tells Gossip Cop the report is entirely “false.” What’s more, while Fergie’s relationship with the actor certainly inspired her “honest” and “vulnerable” record, we’re further assured that the timing of the album’s release bears no correlation to the public announcement of her breakup. And given CDL’s long history of fabricating stories about numerous celebrities, we’re not remotely surprised by this latest made-up tale.
