A tabloid claims William H. Macy is worried about how he’ll manage parenting his two daughters if Felicity Huffman goes to jail for her role in the college admissions cheating scandal. The story is made-up. Gossip Cop can correct it.

Huffman will be sentenced on September 13 after pleading guilty last month to paying $15,000 to have her daughter’s SAT scores boosted in a scheme to help get her into college. According to OK!, Macy is the one who’s riddled with more anxiety over the situation because he doesn’t know how he’ll take care of their daughters, Sofia, 18, and Georgia, 17, with his wife behind bars.

A supposed source tells the outlet, “The girls are a handful at the best of times, and with all this going on, they’re both emotional wrecks. He doesn’t know how he’s going to cope without Felicity by his side.” The alleged insider adds, “She was always the one who calmed everything down and set things right again, and no amount of money or help could make up for her absence.”

None of this is accurate. For starters, the unreliable outlet is trying to make it seem as though Huffman is facing a life sentence, which isn’t the case. Prosecutors are reportedly recommending four months of prison time for the “Desperate Housewives” star, and it’s entirely possible she’ll serve less than that. Additionally, the couple’s daughters aren’t exactly babies. In fact, Sofia is legally an adult and her younger sister is right behind her.

Additionally, both Macy and Huffman have jobs that require them to frequently travel, so their daughters are presumably used to their mother being out of town. It’s safe to say that Macy has spent plenty of alone time with his girls over the years while their mom was on location shooting a project. Although the actor is certainly concerned about the possibility of his wife getting jail time, it’s not for the reason listed in the magazine.

Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the couple, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but assures us the tabloid’s report is fabricated. Macy isn’t worried he won’t be able to handle parenting duties if his wife goes to jail for a few months. The unreliable magazine has concocted a phony angle to capitalize on the couple’s controversy.

Last month, Gossip Cop busted OK!’s sister outlet, Star, for falsely claiming Macy was putting his acting career on hold to save his marriage. In reality, the couple’s relationship is still strong and the actor will soon start shooting the 10th season of his Showtime series “Shameless.” The magazine’s other sister publication, the National Enquirer, wrongly alleged in April that Macy would be divorcing Huffman following her guilty plea in the scandal. That clearly hasn’t happened, and this latest article about the spouses is more fiction.
