As Gossip Cop reported, Fate Of The Furious is the eighth installment in the Fast And Furious franchise. It is the first film without Paul Walker and the kick-off to the series’ final trilogy. The movie, led once again by Vin Diesel, sped up the box office chart last weekend, debuting with roughly $100 million.

For its second weekend, grosses dropped by more than 60 percent, but Fate still outpaced the competition. With $38.7 million, it easily hung on to first place, while Boss Baby took second again with $12.8 million. Again repeating last week’s rankings, Beauty And The Beast came in third with $10 million. The new documentary Born In China secured fourth with $5.1 million, while Going In Style, directed by Zach Braff, landed in fifth with $5 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Smurfs: The Lost Village in sixth with $4.9 million, followed by Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson’s new thriller Unforgettable, which nabbed seventh and $4.8 million in ticket sales Gifted came in eighth with $4.5 million, and The Promise took ninth with $4.1 million. Just making it into the Top 10 was The Lost City Of Z, starring Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson. For its first weekend in wide release, the adventure epic earned $2.1 million.
