Eric Trump will give a speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday in support of his father Donald Trump. Hours before, during a live interview on “Good Morning America,” he shared a preview of what to expect. Watch below.

“I really focus on the ‘why,'” Eric said of his speech’s topic. “I think it’s such an important question. Why is my father doing it? Why does he care so much? Why now? Here’s a guy who’s in the apex of his career. He does not need to be doing this… My father cares deeply about this country. This country has given him everything.”

Eric praised brother Donald, Jr. and sister Tiffany’s Tuesday turns at the podium, joking, “The bar is high. We’re a competitive family. We can take it.” And like his famous father, he showed no shortage of confidence. “All eyes are on. I took immense pride. I wrote every single word of my speech myself,” he said, a possible reference to stepmother Melania Trump’s plagiarism controversy.

He insisted to Robin Roberts that he used “zero” speechwriters, further saying, “I think sometimes when you write from the heart, and I’ll certainly deliver it from the heart, the product will be what it’ll be, but it’ll certainly be sincere and full of love and full of emotion. That’s how it’s supposed to be.”

The family was together on the convention floor Tuesday when Trump Sr. officially became the Republican nominee. “We were pinching ourselves. We’ve worked so hard on this and my father’s put so much passion into it,” Eric now reflected, noting how his father only because a “politician” just “12 months ago.”

He’s found the journey to be “wild” and “fun” so far, not to mention “amazing,” “special” and “emotional.” He further said of his dad, “I’m proud of him. I’m just proud of the man. He’s done such an unbelievable job.” But when asked if he plans to move to Washington, D.C. and be a part of the administration should Donald be elected, Eric admitted, “Probably not.”

That said, “If he ever made the call, I’d be there in two seconds… I will always stand by his side. That’s kind of the family we are,” Eric told Roberts. Check out the full video below.
