Is Emma Stone really quitting acting to embark on a music career? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, but Gossip Cop has exclusively learned the truth.

A new National Enquirer story claims the actress, who showed off her singing talents in last year’s La La Land, is now planning to leave the movie business and record an album. “It’s been a dream of hers for years,” a supposed “source” tells the magazine. “She wants the album to be something classic.”

The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to say the only hurdle Stone has to jump over is her fear of performing live, which is why she supposedly “turned down performing La La Land songs this past awards season.” The “source” further purports that the actress is still figuring out her musical style, but she can sing jazz and blues. “She says she needs really great material to shine,” adds the magazine’s questionable insider. “She keeps it private and discrete, which is what’s so appealing producers.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Stone, who exclusively assures us she isn’t quitting acting to record an album, and the tabloid’s story is simply “not true.” In fact, the busy actress has a number of projects in the works, including the Netflix series “Maniac” and Disney’s 101 Dalmatians spinoff focusing on villain Cruella de Vil.

Unfortunately, we’ve had to debunk a number of the Enquirer’s bogus stories about the Oscar-winning actress. Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting Stone would star in La La Land on Broadway. Shortly before that fabrication, we called out the magazine for falsely claiming Stone was refusing to gain weight for her role as Cruella de Vil. This latest article is equally untrue.
