Is Emma Stone warning ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield not to date Rita Ora? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.

Several outlets reported last month that Garfield and Ora have developed a romance, but those rumors remain unconfirmed. Neither star has commented on their rumored relationship and they haven't been photographed together. According to In Touch, however, the actor's ex is "shocked" by the news and is encouraging him to steer clear of the singer.

A supposed source tells the magazine that Stone "reached out to Andrew and gave him some friendly advice — basically that he needs to protect his heart." The alleged insider goes on to say the actress has "nothing personal" against Ora, but is suspicious of her intentions based on all the celebrities she's been linked to in the past.

"The list is very long," adds the questionable tipster. "Rita seems to have a dating pattern: famous guys only, and not for long periods of time. That's a huge red flag." The seemingly phony source further contends that Stone is stepping in to make sure Garfield doesn't get hurt, adding, "Emma still cares about him. She's just looking out for him."

It's worth noting, Gossip Cop has reached out to reps for both Garfield and Ora to get clarification about their rumored romance, but we haven't received confirmation either way. Last week, Ora and her ex-boyfriend Andrew Watt were spotted heading into a West Hollywood hotel together. The pair split in September after a year of dating, and it's unclear if they've rekindled a romance or are just friends.

Although Gossip Cop can't currently verify whether or not Garfield and Ora are actually dating, we can confirm that Stone isn't involved in the situation. A source close to the actress, speaking on the condition of anonymity, assures us the magazine's story is made-up. Although the actress has remained friendly with her ex since their 2015 split, she hasn't "warned" him about the singer, nor is she concerned with who he might be dating.

In fact, this isn't the first time we've had to debunk a bogus story involving the trio. Earlier this week, we called out a tabloid for falsely claiming that Stone was jealous of Garfield dating Ora. Gossip Cop will update if we learn more about the rumored romance between the actor and singer, but irrespective of their relationship, Stone plays no role in any of this.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
