One of this week’s tabloids claims Emma Stone isn’t happy about her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Garfield, reportedly dating Rita Ora. The story is inaccurate. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Reports emerged last month that a romance has been developing between Garfield and Ora, but their relationship hasn’t been confirmed and neither star has commented on the rumors. Still, NW quotes an alleged insider as saying, “Rita let slip to pals about her brewing romance about a month ago. But in recent days things have started to heat up and she says what they have is the real deal.”
The outlet’s supposed source goes on to say that the news isn’t sitting well with Stone, who was supposedly hoping to reconcile with Garfield. “The thought of Rita getting her claws into Andrew is so hard for Emma to take,” adds the questionable tipster. “She never thought Andrew would be with someone so opposite of her – it’s really caught her off guard.”
One of the problems with the magazine’s article is that it’s uncertain whether or not Garfield and Ora are even a couple. Last week, Ora was spotted heading into a West Hollywood hotel with ex-boyfriend Andrew Watt, who she split from in September after a year of dating. Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for the singer for clarification, but the status of her love life is unclear at the moment.
Regardless of whether or not Garfield and Ora are actually together, Gossip Cop can confirm that Stone doesn’t play a role in any of this. A source close to the actress tells us on the condition of anonymity that there’s no truth to the tabloid’s article. Stone and Garfield have remained close friends since their 2015 breakup, but she’s not jealous or concerned with who he might be dating.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the tabloid’s phony story. Gossip Cop busted NW in March for attempting to create a fake romance between Stone and Justin Theroux. Time has proven that the actress and actor, who co-star together on the new Netflix series “Maniac,” are just friends and colleagues.
Gossip Cop will update if we learn more about Garfield and Ora’s rumored romance, but their reps have kept quiet about the situation so far. Regardless of the dynamic between the actor and singer, there’s no reason for Stone to be dragged into the situation. The tabloids enjoy creating nonexistent love triangles between stars, and this is another example.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
