Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are not being "torn apart by jealousy," nor are they headed for a split, despite a completely untrue tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. We're told the spouses are happier than ever.
According to Life & Style, however, the talk show host and her wife are "fighting more than ever" as the retired actress continues to focus on her art company, General Public. "Portia's been pouring her heart and soul into this company, and this is the first time she's been consumed by something that has nothing to do with Ellen or Ellen's career," a supposed source tells the outlet.
The alleged insider further contends that DeGeneres has been "acting jealous and incredibly demanding" to the point where it's tearing apart the spouses of nearly 11 years. "They're barely on speaking terms at this point," adds the questionable tipster, "and are pretty much leading separate lives."
The seemingly phony source goes on to say that DeGeneres is so desperate for her wife's attention that DeRossi "has to put her phone on silent because Ellen calls constantly." The so-called "insider" continues, "She's determined to keep track of Portia's every move and will complain if she's home late and question what she's done throughout the day."
The suspicious tipster also maintains that de Rossi's busy work schedule and DeGeneres' "overbearing behavior" has led to brutal fights between the pair. "There have been times when Portia has asked Ellen to leave their house so she can have some space," asserts the "source," adding that friends of the couple believe a divorce is on the horizon.
None of this is remotely accurate. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the couple, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us, "They've literally never been happier." We're told DeGeneres has been nothing but supportive of her wife's new business venture. The claim otherwise is baseless.
Life & Style has already proven to have little insight into the couple's marriage. In January, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that DeGeneres was quitting her talk show to have kids with de Rossi. In May, the talk show host renewed her contract for three more years. Both spouses have also said several times that they don't want children.
Last October, Gossip Cop busted the publication for falsely claiming DeGeneres and de Rossi were living apart to save their marriage. The phony story was written shortly after the couple bought a $15 million home in Beverly Hills. The spouses, who are avid real estate investors, didn't purchase the property as a separate "escape pad," as the magazine put it. This latest article about the happy couple, who will celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary in August, is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
