One of this week's tabloids claims Ellen DeGeneres has underwent $1 million in plastic surgery to prevent wife Portia de Rossi from dumping her. The story is completely absurd. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
An article in the latest issue of the Globe says the talk show "has gifted herself with a new million-dollar face" ahead of her 61st birthday in January. DeGeneres' main motivation for the extensive cosmetic work, according to the magazine, is so her 45-year-old wife doesn't leave her.
A plastic surgeon who hasn't treated the comedienne is quoted as saying, "It's quite obvious she underwent a full face-lift - and everything else, as well." The doctor, who's seemingly never met DeGeneres, believes she's gotten a nose job, neck lift, forehead lift, eyelid surgery, facial fillers and much more.
Another questionable source adds, "Over time, Ellen has spent at least $1 million on her face alone. She's very much aware of the age difference between her and Portia. She'll do anything to turn back the hands of time - and money is no object!"
There's simply no truth to the magazine's storyline. Gossip Cop checked in with a mutual pal of ours and the couple, who laughed off the article. In fact, de Rossi said in a recent Us Weekly interview that she and her wife ignore the divorce rumors about them. "We avoid it. We don't care," said the actress. This latest report about DeGeneres overhauling her appearance to avoid a split is more nonsense.
Earlier this week, de Rossi shared an Instagram photo of her and DeGeneres hosting a viewing party for the talk show host's new Netflix special. And earlier this month, de Rossi posted an Instagram video of DeGeneres surprising her on their 15th anniversary. It's clear the couple's marriage is going strong, despite the Globe attempting to make it seem as if their age difference is some sort of issue, which it isn't.
Meanwhile, the unreliable tabloid has already proven to have zero insight into the couple's relationship. Gossip Cop busted the magazine in July for falsely claiming that DeGeneres and de Rossi were getting a divorce because the actress rejected her wife's request to adopt a baby. In reality, DeGeneres has made it clear that she doesn't want kids.
In addition to the tabloid's story being untrue, it's also illogical. DeGeneres hosts a daily talk show, so when exactly did she undergo this million-dollar surgical makeover? Such a procedure doesn't exactly heal overnight. The outlet's article is entirely fabricated.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
