Ellen DeGeneres is fighting back against a Christian Post op-ed written by a pastor who claimed the star is using her talk show to further a “gay agenda.” Naturally, DeGeneres combined humor with poignancy in her response, which she gave as her monologue on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Watch the video below.

Larry Tomczak, in his January 8 piece titled “Are You Aware of the Avalanche of Gay Programming Assaulting Your Home?,” complained about what he believes is the “indoctrination and propaganda coming from those advocating a gay lifestyle in our country,” calling out not just DeGeneres, but “Modern Family,” “Scandal,” and Anderson Cooper, among other Hollywood people and programming. In his list of examples, he wrote that DeGeneres “celebrates her lesbianism and ‘marriage’ in between appearances of guests like Taylor Swift to attract young girls.”

DeGeneres’ response specifically targeted that comment and more. “Let’s just break this down,” said the host. “First of all, I’m not ‘married.’ I’m married. That’s all.” DeGeneres went on to say she doesn’t know how to “celebrate her lesbianism,” before taking out a champagne popper and exclaiming with mock-excitement, “I’m gay!”

DeGeneres continued, “Larry, the only way I’m trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another. That is the message I am sending out. I don’t have an agenda. I’m not here to brainwash anyone.” The comedienne then jokingly held up a spinning vortex and said, “Listen to the sound of my voice. Attention youth of the world. I want you to live your lives being exactly who you are. Be true to yourself. The most important thing is that you be true to yourself. The second most important thing is that you wear ‘Ellen’ underwear, and only ‘Ellen’ underwear.” Check out the full video below, and tell us what you think. NOTE: The video is no longer available.
