Ellen Degeneres and Charlize Theron are not headed for a "showdown" over Portia de Rossi, despite a completely made-up report. The article claims the talk show host is worried about the actress being a bad influence on her wife, but there's not truth to any of it. Gossip Cop can exclusively clear up the situation.
It was recently announced Netflix had ordered a fifth season of "Arrested Development," and the series' regulars are all returning, including de Rossi. Theron guest-starred on five episodes of the show's third season back in 2005, but her name hasn't been mentioned as being part of the upcoming revival. RadarOnline, however, insists DeGeneres is worried about her wife working with the actress again.
A so-called "source" tells the site, "Ellen knows Charlize and finds her controlling and brash, and worries how she'll influence Portia. She knows Portia is like putty and adapts to whomever she's hanging out with." The outlet's dubious insider adds, "She really looks up to Charlize and loves her salty language. Ellen showed up on the set when Charlize guest-starred before." The seemingly phony source concludes, "You can bet she'll be poking her head around again, keeping an eye on things during any of Charlize and Portia's scenes together this season."
Despite how absurd this story sounds, Gossip Cop still checked in with a mutual pal of ours and DeGeneres, who laughed off the webloid's report. We're told it's entirely fabricated. Additionally, our "Arrested Development" sources weren't able to confirm Theron's involvement in the upcoming season. But even if the actress does end up returning to the series, DeGeneres isn't the least bit concerned she'll be a negative influence on her wife.
Unfortunately, RadarOnline has published countless bogus stories about the happily married couple, so this latest piece of fiction isn't surprising. Gossip Cop previously busted the webloid for wrongly reporting DeGeneres and de Rossi were having a baby to "save their marriage." Shortly after that nonsense, we debunked the site's phony article about DeGeneres going on a date with a "mystery brunette" behind her wife's back. The outlet's latest claim is equally unfounded.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
