It was a strange weekend at the box office. Dunkirk, a celebrated war movie, beat a panned film that features a poop emoji by just $2.5 million. Get the details, and check out the full Top 10 below!

As Gossip Cop reported, Dunkirk won first place with its debut last week. The critically-acclaimed historical drama from Christopher Nolan is based on the real-life evacuation of Allied soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk during World War II. A number of critics and film analysts have already suggested the epic could be an Oscar frontrunner, even though nominations won’t be announced until next January.

After a stellar opening, Dunkirk crossed the $100 million milestone in just two weekends by adding $28.1 million to its gross this time around. Shockingly, The Emoji Movie earned second place and $25.6 million, despite the new animated film, which shows the lives of emojis in a city called Textopolis, receiving some of the worst reviews of the year to date. There is an all-star voice cast, however, and given that emojis appeal to moviegoers young and old, the flick certainly attracted a modest audience.

Less controversially was Girls Trip coming in third place with $20 million. Atomic Blonde, a graphic novel adaptation starring Charlize Theron, opened in fourth with $18.5 million. And Spider-Man: Homecoming added another $13.5 million to its haul to secure the fifth position.

Rounding out the Top 10 were War For The Planet Of The Apes, which had ticket sales totaling $10.4 million. After raking in $7.7 million, Despicable Me 3 nabbed seventh place. Meanwhile, Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets took eighth with $6.8 million, and Baby Driver came in ninth with $4.1 million. Just making into the Top 10 after being in theaters for nine weeks was Wonder Woman. The well-received film, which will be getting a sequel, earned $3.5 million this weekend.
