Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diazs friendship is still going strong. On Friday, the pair flaunted their bond on Instagram, just one day after Gossip Cop busted fake news wrongly claiming Diaz and Barrymore were no longer friends.

As Gossip Cop reported on Thursday, Star features a story in its new issue that alleges the longtime pals had a falling out over Diaz’s birthday when she rejected Barrymore’s idea to go on vacation together. A purported source was quoted as saying, “Cam said she had already planned something low-key with [husband] Benji [Madden] at home. Drew threw out a bunch of alternative dates but Cameron just kept saying, ‘Sorry, busy.’ Drew was so shocked and hurt.”

The gossip magazine went on to assert that Diaz refused the offer in order to get revenge on Barrymore for supposedly ignoring her after recently embarking on a romance with David Hutchinson. “Drew leaned on Cameron so much during her divorce, but since she met David, she hasn’t reached out as much. So Cam doesn’t feel guilty about putting her own love life first, too,” the tabloid’s alleged tipster claimed.

But when Gossip Cop investigated the tale, no one on either side could corroborate the claims. In fact, one contact close to Barrymore exclusively told us the allegations were “totally made up.” We were assured that there was no such dispute over Diaz’s birthday, and that the former Charlie’s Angels co-stars remain very close.

Now they’ve proved our bust was correct. Along with the above photo, Barrymore wrote on Instagram, “#beautyjunkieweek #sisters. getting out of your house with your girlfriend. And being a whole person, with your sister. Remember to spend a moment with the ones you love in your busy life. She has made me feel beyond beautiful. Always has. Always will. #thankgodforyourfriends. They rejuvenate and confirm everything.” For an outlet named Star, it’s embarrassing sometimes how wrong the publication can be about stars.
