Drake did NOT cancel his concert in Amsterdam due to a “weed overdose,” despite a false webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told it’s not true.

The rapper pulled out of a scheduled show for his Boy Meets World European tour at the Ziggo Dome on Monday night after 17,000 concertgoers had already filled the arena. A promoter announced to the audience, “I’m really sorry to tell you that tonight’s show cannot take place. Drake got sick. His doctor told him not to perform.” No further explanation was provided, but MediaTakeOut is now wrongly purporting that the cancellation was drug-related.

A so-called “source” tells the site that Drake “smoked some weed mixed with hash, and it was too strong for him,” adding, “He overdosed on weed. It wasn’t anything dangerous. He just got too high.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a trustworthy source close to the rapper, who exclusively assures us that an alleged “weed overdose” was not the reason he cancelled the concert, which has been rescheduled for Wednesday night.

Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has repeatedly busted MTO for publishing lies about the rapper, so this latest fabrication comes as no surprise. We previously called out the site for falsely claiming Drake is gay. Gossip Cop also corrected the webloid’s bogus report alleging Drake is the father of a two-year-old girl. There was no truth to either of those stories, and the same goes for this latest one.
