Donald Trump mourned the death of Prince on Twitter on Friday, calling the late musician an “amazing talent and wonderful guy.”

As Gossip Cop reported, the iconic musician died on Thursday at the age of 57 at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota. Although an official cause of death has yet to revealed, it was later reported Prince had been rushed to the hospital for a drug overdose less than a week ago. Last Friday, the singer’s private jet made an emergency landing mid-flight so he could be hospitalized. At the time, the singer’s rep said he was suffering from the flu, but new reports claim Prince possibly overdosed on the painkiller Percocet. Autopsy results are still pending.

As Gossip Cop noted, President Obama released a statement following Prince’s death, and numerous celebrities wrote Twitter tributes in honor of the late musician. And now, Republican presidential candidate Trump, who’s infamously outspoken about every major current event, has brokenn his silence. “I met Prince on numerous occasions,” the GOP frontrunner tweeted. “He was an amazing talent and wonderful guy. He will be greatly missed!”

Interestingly, Prince wrote a song in 1990 titled “Donald Trump (Black Version),” which was performed by the R&B group The Time. Prince’s rep is no longer speaking to the press, but Gossip Cop will update as more details surrounding the musician’s death are released.
