James Otis, who took a sledgehammer to Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star in October, pled no contest on Tuesday to felony vandalism. In exchange for his plea, Otis will see no jail time, but will have to do 20 hours of Caltrans community service, picking up trash along the California highway, as well as pay a $3,700 fine to the Hollywood Historic Trust and another $700 in restitution to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Otis, who was dressed as a city construction worker when he smashed Trump’s star, will also be on probation for three years.

Shortly after vandalizing the then-presidential candidate’s star, Otis noted he was “proud” and “felt good” about his actions. Following his arrest, however, he expressed remorse, and said he realized it was “wrong” and “I shouldn’t have done it.”

As Gossip Cop originally reported, after Otis destroyed Trump’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star with a hammer, the reality star turned politician’s name was completely removed from the stone, as was the center brass with its image of a TV. Otis claimed at the time that he was going to auction off the star and donate the proceeds to women who alleged Trump had sexually abused them. Trump was given a star on the famed boulevard for his work as the host of “The Apprentice.”

Otis’ act, however, wasn’t the first time Trump’s star was vandalized. Trump’s star was first defaced with a large X across it in September 2015. And in January 2016, Trump’s star had a swastika spray-painted on it. Then in July 2016, an artist built a wall around Trump’s star to mock his plans for a wall along the Mexican border.
