Donald Trump was NOT asked to appear on “Dancing With The Stars” this season, despite a “lie” made up by a site that has repeatedly been caught manufacturing fabrications. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the absurd claim. We’re told the story about an offer to compete on “DWTS” is an “absolute lie.”

According to HollywoodLife, a website that’s become known for its made-up tales, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump may be “going from the podium to the dance floor.” The disreputable webloid alleges he’s “hoping for the White House, but he may get a mirror ball trophy instead, because… he’s been asked to join ‘DWTS’” The outlet further claims that while Trump is busy running for president, he still “hasn’t said no” to the show’s offer to take “some time off to try his hand (or feet?) at dancing” on the new season of “Dancing With The Stars,” which begins September 12.

The unreliable sister site of Variety quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “They really want someone political on the show, especially this season being so close to the election.” The seemingly fictitious “source” adds Trump was asked “to see if he would be interested to do the show even while running for President,” and there’s still “a glimmer of hope” he will.

Gossip Cop isn’t going to waste time offering more examples of how HollywoodLies has been caught literally hundreds of times making up stories. It can easily be found on our site. Simply, a source in the Trump campaign questioned the sanity of the outlet for fabricating its story about the presidential nominee possibly competing on “Dancing With The Stars,” before exclusively telling Gossip Cop, “It’s an absolute lie.”
