As Gossip Cop reported, Fisher and Sharna Burgess were the third pair to be sent home from season 25 of the dancing competition on Monday. For his final performance on “Most Memorable Year” night, Fisher and Burgess did a jazz routine to Curtis Mayfield’s “Move On Up,” receiving a total of 23 out of a possible 30 points, his best score so far. Unfortunately, it still wasn’t enough to secure the former basketball player a place in next week’s show. After being sent home, Fisher opened up on “Good Morning America” about his ballroom journey and untimely exit from the show.

As part of “Most Memorable Year” week, Fisher dedicated his performance to his daughter, who was diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer in 2007. Speaking of her emotional reaction to the jazz dance, he said, “That was the hardest part of the night. The dance part was easy. As a father, you never want to do anything, even if it’s dancing, that makes your child cry. That was tough to see. But I think later in life, it’ll be a moment we both look back on and know that it was something very special.” He added, “It was all about her. That’s what the whole night was about.”

Fisher’s partner Burgess went on to talk about the other dances she was touched by over the course of the night. “I thought Lindsey and Maks’ dance was absolutely beautiful. Creatively, it was incredible. Seeing the raw emotion on Lindsey’s face when she was dancing,” she said. “Obviously Val and Victoria…. We were all balling our eyes out in the red room last night watching her, and not through sadness, but from being inspired by this incredible young woman.” Watch the full “GMA” interview below!
