Demi Lovato appears on Wednesday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where she talks about her new documentary “Simply Complicated.” Watch the interview here!

The “brutally honest” documentary, which debuts on YouTube later this month, gives fans an “intimate look” into the singer’s personal life and struggles. During the interview, DeGeneres notes, “[Celebrities] are supposed to be perfect, have these amazing lives and be happy all the time, and you are just brutally honest about what your life has been like. You talk about eating disorders, drugs, depression, everything.” Briefly referring to her own mental health, Lovato says, “I said on the show a while ago that I have bipolar disorder and that’s something I touch on in the documentary.”

The star goes on to share, “I touch on everything that I’ve been through and how it’s turned me into the person I am today. I went through years and years of not knowing what was wrong with me, but knowing that something was off. But there is nothing wrong with me, it’s something that I have, it’s a part of who I am, but it touches on that in the documentary.”

Lovato also talks about her latest album “Tell Me You Love Me,” which was released in September to rave reviews. But after much speculation, the talk show host amusingly questions the “Cool For The Summer” singer on whether or not one song in particular is written about longtime friend and collaborator Nick Jonas. Avoiding the question and bursting into a fit of laughter, Lovato admits, “Something that I will always keep to myself is who I write my songs about.” Watch the videos below, in which the star also performs her smash-hit “Sorry Not Sorry.”
