Davon Fleming The Voice Battle Video

Davon Fleming and Maharasyi covered Whitney Houston for their Battle on “The Voice,” as seen on Tuesday’s show. Watch the video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, Fleming turned all four chairs with his Blind Audition, for which he sang “Me And Mr. Jones.” Following a standing ovation, Blake Shelton actually predicted he’d make it all the way to the finale. The aspiring star and Hudson quickly bonded over their mutual love of Houston, leading her to go on stage for an impromptu duet of “I Will Always Love You.” It became clear that Fleming would pick Hudson to be his coach, despite the strong pitches from the other panelists.

Now Hudson had to cut Team J-Hud in half through the Battles, where the artists sing in pairs. After each duet, she had to choose a victor to keep on her team, with the other person getting cut. She explained she chose Maharasyi to face off with Fleming because their voices were well-suited together. Joined by Kelly Rowland as a guest advisor in rehearsals, Hudson tasked them with singing Houston’s “I’m Your Baby Tonight.” Fleming found himself in (happy) tears just from the “overwhelming” experience. “Davon is a beast,” Hudson admitted, urging him to let Maharasyi shine, too.

After the performance, Miley Cyrus said she was most impressed with the “entertainment factor itself… I’m equally a fan of both of you.” Adam Levine gave his vote to “force of nature” Fleming, but said Maharasyi has an “incredible voice.” Shelton marveled, “There was nothing that he did that she didn’t do that wasn’t equally incredible.” Hudson herself said Maharasyi came off like a “star,” while Fleming’s “love for Whitney shined through.” Eventually, though, Hudson had to make her big decision. And she announced Fleming as the winner! Check out the video below!
