David Ross and partner Lindsay Arnold hit a home run on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars” premiere. They performed a quickstep to Steve Goodman’s “Go Cubs Go.” Watch the video below.

Prior to David Ross’s routine, he talked about winning the World Series, and how he wanted to dance off the field afterwards, but his teammates carried him off instead. Ross noted that he retired after winning the World Series, and that he hit a home run during his last at-bat.

Of Ross’s quickstep, Carrie Ann Inaba said, “That was so much fun,” adding that it was “one of my favorite dances of the night.” She continued, “You were charming and smooth… Well done!” Len Goodman felt, “It was not a home run, but you got yourself to first base.” Julianne Hough expressed, “The choreography was amazing,” and “I’m predicting you will be going quite far this season.” And Bruno Tonioli loved his routine as well, and compared it to a “quickstep on a field of dreams.” He further offered, “Keep doing it!”

For Ross’s first dance of the season, he received 28 out of 40. Check out the video below of Ross’s quickstep to “Go Cubs Go” on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars.”
