David Ross and Lindsay Arnold performed a fusion dance of a foxtrot and salsa during the “Dancing With The Stars” finale on Tuesday, and they once again impressed. Watch the “DWTS” video below.

While Ross ended Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars” finals with a perfect score, his first dance, a Viennese waltz to OneRepublic’s “Let’s Hurt Tonight,” was actually the lowest scored routine of the entire evening. The retired baseball player received a mere 33 out of 40 points from the judges. Still, Len Goodman began the judges’ comments by noting Ross’s place in the finals is “truly a Cinderella story.” And while he wasn’t entirely impressed, Goodman added, “It’s always a pleasure and a joy to watch you because of you’re so full of enthusiasm.”

Julianne Hough then jumped in to say, “I totally saw the improvement.” Next, Bruno Tonioli stated, “You’re not the best technical dancer, but… you’re lovable.” “You’re totally a hero because you’ve beaten all the odds to be here,” felt Carrie Ann Inaba, who still pointed out that his feet sometimes were “out of sync.”

As Gossip Cop mentioned above, Ross came back with a perfect freestyle for his second dance. The former Chicago Cubs catcher knocked it out of the park while performing to a medley of Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock’s “It Takes Two” and Ronnie Neuman’s “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Right afterwards, a beaming Goodman shouted, “That was fantastic! I loved it.” Hough similarly exclaimed, “That’s what a freestyle’s about.” “Who can ask for anything more,” Tonioli further expressed. And finally, Inaba told Ross, “You hit your personal best.”

For Ross’s very last dance on Tuesday’s “Dancing With The Stars” finale, Goodman remarked, “That was a proper fusion dance.” Hough felt, “This entire season you have not disappointed at all.” Inaba gushed, “You opened all our hearts.” And Tonioli told Ross, “You are already the people’s champion.” Ross and Arnold’s foxtrot and salsa fusion dance received 36 out of 40 points.
