David Ross and Lindsay Arnold performed another solid routine on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars” finals. For their redemption dance, they did a Viennese waltz to OneRepublic’s “Let’s Hurt Tonight.” Watch the video below.

While not the best dancer, Ross has been a fan favorite all season. In fact, the retired baseball player has been on the verge of being voted off twice, being the last contestant to be called during Week 7 and Week 9’s eliminations. Last week, for instance, Ross was not sent home, while Simone Biles shockingly was eliminated from “Dancing With The Stars” after having nailed two perfect routines. For his part, the former Chicago Cubs catcher has yet to receive a perfect score, let alone even a single 10 from any of the judges.

Last week, Ross danced twice during the semifinals. His first routine was a foxtrot that earned just 34 out of 40 points during the judge’s challenge round. He came back strong with his second performance, a tango to Ed Sheehan’s “Castle On The Hill.” Afterwards, Len Goodman gushed, “There have been better dancers on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ however, no one has tried harder, worked harder and given me more enjoyment than watching you.” Julianne Hough said, “You are such a great dancer,” and “I am so proud of you.” Bruno Tonioli shrieked, “You went for it… Well done!” And Carrie Ann Inaba shared, “I think this was your best dance.” For that effort, Ross got his season high of 36 out of 40 points.

Following Ross’s Viennese waltz during the finals, Goodman called Ross’s appearance in the finals a “Cinderella story,” but was not blown away by his performance. Hough felt, “You deserve to be in this finals.” Tonioli commented, “You’re not the best technical dancer, but you’re lovable.” And Inaba said even though he made errors with his feet, “You make the best connection.” For their redemption dance, Ross and Arnold received just 33 out of 40 points.
