David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are not moving to Miami full-time, despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can confirm that the couple isn’t leaving their home in London permanently. The claim otherwise simply isn’t true.
David is the co-owner of Inter Miami CF, a Major League Soccer team that’s due to begin playing in 2020. According to Star, the former soccer player and his wife plan to make Miami their new home. “David is happy in Miami and he’s been talking seriously about making a full-time switch once his soccer team takes off,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “And now he’s even got Victoria buzzed about it.”
The anonymous insider goes on to say the Beckhams have “been hunting for the best real estate money can buy along the waterfront,” adding that Victoria was initially hesitant about relocating to the United States, but she’s come around to the idea. “They’re excited to begin this whole new chapter,” adds the unidentified tipster.
The tabloid’s report is based on claims from an untraceable “source,” but Gossip Cop reached out to Victoria’s spokesperson, who tells us it’s simply “incorrect.” Despite what the magazine’s unknown “insider” says, a rep qualified to speak on the fashion designer’s behalf confirms she’s not moving her family from London to Miami.
Although it’s reasonable to believe the spouses will purchase a property in Miami, London will remain their primary residence. The couple’s three younger kids – Romeo, Cruz and Harper – will continue going to school in their hometown.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by Star’s bogus story. The tabloid has repeatedly proven to have zero insight into the couple’s marriage. Back in January, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming Angelina Jolie was “stealing” David from his wife. That didn’t happen and the magazine hasn’t referenced the phony scenario since.
Last year, Gossip Cop called out the publication for wrongly alleging that Victoria was divorcing David over a false rumor about him getting their daughter’s teacher pregnant. That rumor, which went viral online, was completely unfounded and the soccer star’s wife never believed it to be true. The woman’s dad even spoke out and denied she had ever met David.
The magazine’s latest article about the Beckhams moving to Miami might be less salacious than some of its other reports, but it’s no more accurate. At the very least, the outlet has taken a break from wrongly reporting that the happy spouses of 20 years are having marriage problems.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
