Is David Beckham really having a midlife crisis? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, which says the 42-year-old retired soccer star has been partying nonstop as of late. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.

According to an article in the latest issue of OK!, Beckham has been spending less time with wife Victoria and more time hanging out with friends. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “David’s been out virtually every night, and he’s burnt out. Victoria’s upset about the way he’s been neglecting her.” The questionable insider adds, “David needs to let off steam sometimes. He doesn’t like to be caged in.”

The seemingly phony source goes on to say Beckham has become lost since retiring from soccer, adding, “He’s trying to replace the camaraderie of his teammates but partying is no way to do it.” The outlet’s dubious insider also contends the former athlete’s wife is “really starting to worry about him.” However, we’ve learned this is all inaccurate.

Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Beckham, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s story is “not true.” The former soccer star isn’t experiencing a personal crisis, nor is he spending all his time partying with his pals. This made-up scenario also isn’t causing any problems in his marriage. It’s simply a non-story.

OK! is the same unreliable publication that Gossip Cop recently busted for wrongly reporting David and Victoria were headed for divorce and “stuck in a passionless marriage.” Shortly before that fabricated article, we debunked the outlet’s phony story about the Beckham family getting their own reality series. Of course, the couple hasn’t split and they aren’t starring on a TV show. This latest claim is more lies from the repeatedly discredited magazine.
