The "Dancing With The Stars" pro dancers do not "hate" Vanessa Lachey, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim, which began in one of this week's tabloids. We're told by multiple sources it's completely untrue.

According to the National Enquirer, after all the "ugly drama" earlier in the season with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the professional dancers are "taking Maks' side." A so-called "insider" is quoted as telling the supermarket tabloid, "Vanessa has been cut off from the rest of the cast." "She is getting the cold shoulder, and everyone is staying away from her," maintains the alleged source, who adds, "Long after Vanessa leaves the show, Maks will still be around for many more seasons. The dancers know they have to stick together."

Allow Gossip Cop to separate what's fact from fiction in this latest report. While it's true that Lachey and Chmerkovskiy have fought in the past, the two quickly moved on from their differences. Interestingly, the tabloid now contends Chemerkovskiy "will still be around for many more seasons," even though its sister publication RadarOnline alleged just a few weeks ago that he "may never come back to work." Regardless of the contradictory assertions, we still looked into the magazine's claim that Lachey has been "cut off from the rest of the cast" and given the "cold shoulder," and nearly a half-dozen individuals connected to the show told us it was categorically untrue.

In fact, if anything, Gossip Cop hears that while everyone is competing hard against one another, there's great camaraderie among the contestants and the pro dancers. Additionally, Chmerkovskiy is hardly rallying his colleagues to "hate" Lachey. Actually, the two have resolved their issues. On Saturday night at Maxim magazine's Halloween party in L.A., he explained to reporters that everyone's under a "lot of stress," as the competition gets closer to the finals, but Chmerkovskiy reiterated that he and Lachey are a "great couple."

And nearly two weeks ago, after performing a rumba with Lachey on the episode that was themed "Most Memorable Year," Chmerkovskiy shared on Instagram a photo of their routine, along with a note that read, "Everything I ever want for my partners is literally what @vanessalachey has brought to the dance floor." He added, "I'm proud of you partner... I wouldn't want to be on this rollercoaster with anyone but you!"

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
