Cindy Crawford is not warning Pete Davidson to stay away from her daughter, Kaia Gerber. One of this week’s tabloids created that phony scenario. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to Woman’s Day, Crawford is in “panic mode” over her daughter recently spending time with the Saturday Night Live star. Gerber and Davidson have been spotted a few times together recently in New York City, and an “insider” tells the publication, “[Crawford’s] well aware of Pete’s terrible rep for burning through women, so of course, she’s worried sick.” Davidson’s love life is becoming the stuff of legend, having dated a number of high-profile women in the last year or so, including being engaged to Ariana Grande for a few months in 2018.
It’s that dating history that the anonymous source tells the tabloid has Crawford upset. The alleged tipster adds, “This is a guy who goes from one girl to the next, and Cindy can smell trouble a mile away.” The unknown insider goes on to say that Gerber is “telling everyone to take a chill pill, she swears they’re just friends, but Cindy’s not stupid – she’s worried that if she doesn’t do something, Kaia’s going to get hurt badly.” All of this is coming from an unnamed and untraceable source, because the story is false.
For starters, it’s not known for sure whether the model and the SNL star are even dating. What is definitely known is that Gossip Cop checked with a spokesperson for Crawford, who’s authorized to speak on the supermodel’s behalf, and we’re told on the record that the story “is not true.” Davidson and Gerber have seen hanging out together, and the comedian was recently seen leaving Gerber’s New York apartment, but Gossip Cop got to the truth of Gerber and Davidson’s relationship last week. Trusted sources close to the situation tell us the two are just friends. It remains to be seen if things change in the future, but Crawford most certainly hasn’t issued any sort of warning to the SNL star.
Oddly enough, this wouldn’t be the first time a tabloid has made up a story involving Crawford worrying about who her daughter hangs out with. In April 2018, after Gerber was photographed with Justin Bieber, NW published a phony report about Crawford warning her daughter to “stay away from Justin.” That story followed a similar narrative to this latest one. It also purported that Crawford, like with Davidson, was worried about Bieber’s reputation and wanted Gerber to “think twice about who she surrounds herself with.” In reality, Crawford isn’t going around “warning” her daughter to “stay away” from any of her famous friends.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
