Are Christina El Moussa and Ant Anstead engaged? A new report claims he proposed while the couple was recently in his native England. But Gossip Cop has learned they aren't planning a wedding just yet.
The misinformation comes from Life & Style, which announces in its latest edition, "Christina & Ant Headed To The Altar." The article alleges the stars are "ready to make things official" after he "recently proposed" while they were in the U.K. So, why hasn't El Moussa been flashing an engagement ring? The tabloid conveniently claims Anstead proposed without one, and contends they are "not waiting for the ring to start their new life together."
With Anstead supposedly "shopping for a rock," it's claimed he and El Moussa are "already planning a tropical destination wedding." A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "They're looking into Hawaii. Although it will be her second time walking down the aisle, she still wants to go all-out." Still, it's said the nuptials will be "intimate," with "just family and friends" in attendance.
No timeline is given, likely because Anstead is still legally married to his estranged wife, but it's also curious that no specific date is given for the proposal. It's not even revealed how the British host supposedly popped the question. Gossip Cop suspects this tale was manufactured, and there are three reasons why.
One, in late June and early July, El Moussa said in multiple interviews that she could see herself marrying Anstead. Two, in early August, El Moussa did an Instagram post where she said she and Anstead had "a lot to celebrate." However, that picture was tagged with a Newport Beach location, so they were stateside, not abroad. And three, the magazine knew the couple would be going to Hawaii when it penned this narrative because Anstead had posted on Instagram earlier this month that they'd soon be "hitting Maui for some much needed R&R."
Now that the trip has taken place, there is no evidence they married while there, and no signs that they spent their time planning a future wedding. In fact, the most dramatic thing to occur during the vacation was El Moussa and Anstead desperately tried to get out of Hawaii before the hurricane hit. A spokesperson for El Moussa also exclusively tells Gossip Cop that it's "not true" that the couple got engaged when they were in England recently.
Life & Style previously claimed a marriage between El Moussa and Anstead was in the works back in March. And over a year ago, the tabloid alleged El Moussa wanted to marry Doug Spedding. Perhaps the magazine should just stay away from this topic all together in future issues.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
