One of this week's tabloids claims Christina Aguilera is unhappy with how her Liberation Tour is being received by fans and critics. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.

According to Star, the singer has been in an "emotional tailspin" over the allegedly "poor sales" and "mediocre reviews" of her latest concert tour. To back up its premise, the magazine claims Aguilera botched a recent photo shoot because she was too depressed to focus on it.

An alleged insider tells the outlet, "She was supposed to do a magazine interview and then take pictures on location in Northern California. A whole crew had flown out. They wanted Christina to look sultry, but she just looked sad and distracted in the test photos."

The supposed source continues, "It just seems like everything had piled on top of her and she just kind of deflated." The questionable tipster further contends that the singer's interview and photo shoot had to be rescheduled because she was too despondent to participate. "All these problems were bound to have an effect on her. I'll bet she can't wait for the tour to be over," adds the seemingly made-up source.

It should be noted, the unreliable outlet doesn't mention what magazine was conducting Aguilera's supposed "photo shoot" and "interview." It's a major red flag when key details are missing from a tabloid's story. Additionally, the publication doesn't explain exactly when and where this incident occurred, other than to say it happened recently in "Northern California."

Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep qualified to speak on Aguilera's behalf, who tells us, "The tour could not be going better. Venues are sold out and the excitement from fans has been overwhelmingly positive." As for the singer's so-called "emotional tailspin," her spokesperson tells us, "The only literal tailspin is when Christina and her dancers are on stage having the best time of their lives!"

It's worth mentioning, Billboard wrote a glowing review of Aguilera's concert at Radio City Music Hall last month. The sold-out show was even attended by Bill and Hillary Clinton. In its rave review of the concert, the music publication made a point of noting, "Not once did [Aguilera] or her voice show any sign of fatigue."

Unfortunately, we're not surprised by Star's bogus story. The tabloid has already proven to know very little about the singer's career. In July, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming that Aguilera had been dropped by her record label RCA Records. The record company itself dismissed the story.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
